And, yes, everyone had a sample by day's end. The kitchen served soup with chicken and several of the staff had roasted chicken later in the day. Plans are to finish harvesting the flock this coming weekend.















Here's a squash we ate recently. It had volunteered in the garden (probably from a seed in the compost pile) and yielded a bucket full of fruit. The taste and texture were very similar to the butternuts we're used to. The color of the skin was a cream and green striped pattern. Dwain is saving seeds for future use.
