We arrived safely at the airport in Tegucigalpa yesterday around 12:30 p.m. After a long wait, we uneventfully proceeded through customs. Janelle and Harlan Horst (and son Zack) greeted us. Our first activity: grocery shopping! The Horsts guided us through interpreting Honduran prices and labels in a recently built supermarket that resembles those around Pennsylvania. 
The 75˚F weather became much cooler as the sun set below the mountainous terrain. We traveled narrow winding roads uphill to La Finca (4,300 feet) passing slow-moving trucks and being passed by motor bikes and the more daring. Angelica and Ali Horst, along with several other excited children, gave us a tour of our house as we unloaded our luggage and shopping bags. Janelle and Andrea Zimmerman graciously whipped up a delicious supper of soft shell tortillas with refried beans and eggs for us to share with the Horst family.
The Horsts and their helpers have done many improvements to our apartment to make it livable and inviting. We were impressed with the recently completed tile work in the shower and kitchen and welcomed with new curtains made by the sewing class of girls at La Finca and a freshly weed-wacked back yard. And, yes, Harlan thoughtfully added a heated shower head! Today will be an exploration day. School classes for the Horst children will begin as soon as the unpacking and organization is complete. (The classroom is inside our apartment.)
